What Does Hear Here Productions do?
Erin Donovan - Artistic Director/Hear Here Productions:
Hear Here creates site specific work in the music, dance, theatre and visual art realms that is relevant to a particular time and place. Our work provides a vibrant way to tell stories and celebrate culture while welcoming a diverse audience of every age and background. We work with the highest level of artistry, while presenting art in approachable and accessible ways.
The mandate of Hear Here Productions: Art for Everyone!
We use shared and common spaces to create site-specific events as "living art" which the audience and performers can fully immerse themselves in. Operating out of Toronto, then Banff, Alberta and now Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia Hear Here has presented events in abandoned Ghost Towns, ocean-side bunkers, movie theatres, bars, barns, glacier lakes and traditional theatre venues. Since 1998 favourite Hear Here projects include Burnwater: Alchemy (A collaboration with Mocean Dance at the Osprey Arts Centre, Alderney Landing Theatre and coming up summer 2018 in Parrsboro at Ship's Ship's Company Theatre), Burnwater (outdoor show) in East Dover Nova Scotia, Two Jack Wish (Two Jack Lake, Banff) The Bankhead Project (Banff, Alberta), Sounding the Body (Music Gallery,Toronto), Music for a Hot Summer Night (Artword Theatre, Toronto), Gradual Instant (Yoga Space,Toronto), The Green Pants (Artword Theatre and Toronto City Libraries), The Velveteen Rabbit (Music Garden, Harbourfront Centre, Toronto.
